It will mainly deal with The Miniature Dairy Goat Association

The main registry
that has been used by mini breeders is The Miniature Dairy Goat
Association (MDGA)
1997
Founded in Jeanne Carson and
Pat Fountain
Jeanne Carson was the registrar and became sole owner after Pat went
back to work full time
Set up originally to create mini Nubians, other breeds were added later
privately owned

1000 minis registered!
Currently being judges under either
ADGA or AGS standards, with maximum height restriction
*Minis may not be taller than 1/2" below maximum
height for same sex and breed of corresponding standard dairy goat.
A mini over the height will be severly faulted
but not disqualified.
*Preferred heights (Should strive for) are 21-25" for does
and 23-27" for bucks
Minis should be judges for conformation first and breed character
second (experimentals)
Currently sanction is 8 animals with 2 exhibitors. Open doe show must
have at least 3 in milk and open buck show must have at least 3 over 12
months old.
An animal must win at least 3 legs to become a FCH, with at least 2 of
these being GCH in the senior division, with enough qualifying animals.
Junior does and bucks can only win a short leg by going JCH. A short leg
will also be awarded at all restricted shows.
Goats need not be registered with MDGA to participate in shows, but if a
non-MDGA animal wins the leg will be presented to the RGCH if it is MDGA
registered.

The Miniature Goat Registry is launched. It is a non-profit corporation
with a board of directors.
It puts out a newsletter called "Have You Herd?"
It has breed standards, a scorecard, a fault matrix and a milk testing
program.
The show rules also allow sanctions for dry does, intermediate bucks &
wethers
